Building a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse: Part 10

Check it out at SEMA 2021 at the Meguiar's Booth

The Eclipse build continues! Ever since getting the Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX back from BCC Unlimited with a fresh coat of paint, it's been all hands on deck at the throtl HQ.

In today's episode of throtl, we install a heap of new GSX parts onto our 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Starting with the subframe, we went with a tubular subframe from NDD Motorsports. Branching off from the subframe, we reinstalled the differential and continued to install aftermarket control arms and new axles. From there, we restored the wheel hubs by removing any rust and repainting the surroundings. finally, we reinstalled the sway bars and threw on a new set of EBC brake rotors and pads.

After getting the subframe and its surrounding parts installed, the boys proceed to install some air struts on the car. We decided to go with Universal Air Suspension, the same suspension that we put on Evan's GTR. We chose the Universal Air struts because they provide a lot of options for how we want to set the ride height on the car. The adjustability of the air suspension is perfect for us to fit aggressive wheels and tires while having the car slammed on the ground.

After getting the new air struts installed, the boys install the rear over-fenders and APR wing. Finally, we put some temporary wheels and tires on the car and get it on the ground.

This thing is looking wicked and we cannot wait to see what happens after we get our HRE wheels!

Check out the video below and if you make it to SEMA stop by the Meguiar’s booth to see this thing in person.
