Building a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX: Part 4 - Making It a Widebody

Let's Make this GSX a Widebody

throtl recently picked up a Carbonetics widebody kit for our Mitsubishi GSX! In today's episode of throtl, we begin installing the widebody kit. First we mount the kit up to the car to see how it looks and what areas need to be trimmed. This body kit did not come with mounting holes so it gave us some free reign on how we want to set it up on the car. Next, we remove the body kit and start trimming the OEM fenders and quarter panels. This is so we can fit the wide body kit properly and prevent the tires from rubbing against the car. At the end of the day we got the fenders, hood, and front lip mounted on the car. Check it out for yourself in the video below!

Edit:No spoilers on the car or blog if you are reading it in order but we have some exciting news. When this 1998 Eclipse GSX build is complete, it will be going to Vegas with us for the SEMA 2021 show. Look for us at the Meguiar's booth when you get there to see this Fast and Furious build in person.
