Words: Joshua McGowan Photography: Tony & Carmen Matthews Chasing our dreams and passion is something that many of us aspire to do, yet many simply don’t manage. Eva Hke was not one of those people, as a car enthusiast which a special place for BMW, she managed to do something she always dreamed of.
Upon finally buying her first BMW – an E93 320i Cabrio, Eva wasting little time customizing her dream car. Ordering parts before it had even arrived, she was well prepared for all of the hard work that goes into making a standard factory issue car into something unique that she could call her own. It turns out she had a knack for it, as after only a few months it was on display at Belgium’s biggest indoor showroom the International Tuning Salon.
It is easy to see why her custom job got so much praise and plaudits, looking at it fully justifies Eva’s claim that standard cars are ‘boring’. You can see exactly why she joined the BMW club and takes her pride and joy around showrooms, as it is a truly beautiful custom job she has done. So how exactly did she do it, and more importantly what parts did she get to make this BMW Cabrio so spectacular? Eva HKE is a web designer who resides in Belgium.
She has always had a love for BMW’s and decided that it was time to finally get her long desired car. She ordered an E93 BMW 320i Cabrio in June, and only waited a month before purchasing her first mod. It would prove not be to her last, but the Vörsteiner CF-lip she ordered made her intentions clear, she wanted her BMW to look as good as it would drive. When the lip arrived the following month Eva took it the body shop to get it pained in the colour she planned for her car, an ice cool Alpinweiss III.
The following month the car would arrive, and so began the work customising. She would get help from her husband along with the Europrojects car club. She remembered the car arriving on the Friday and come Monday the front lip was already installed, along with the brand new HRE wheels. These were 19” 540R’s featuring gold powder coated heart and really made the car stand out and look like something from a bond film. Surprisingly enough it didn’t take long for it to appear on shows.
After only a month and a half and just over 1000km clocked in, it would feature at the biggest indoor car show in Eva’s native Belgium – the International Tuning Salon. Her customisation had already began to evolve, with the additions of a carbon diffusor, carbon mirrors, quad-exhaust and rear bumper that was cleaned up and extended to make a more perfect fit. Eva noted that in the short time it took from her receiving the car to it appearing at the show must ‘be some kind of record’.
Looking at the beauty of her custom E93 makes you realise how it managed such a feat in s short space of time. Not only does the car run like a machine with its added strut bar and adjusted air box, it looks phenomenal. The pristine white of the exteriors is made even better by the luxurious interior of the car. Custom sports seats and the gorgeous red leather of the installed Leder Dakota Korallrot really help to add the wow factor.
Throw in the interior black trim and M-tech custom steering wheel, break handle and pedals and you have a car that is a truly customized job that will be the envy of not only lovers of BMWs, but those who appreciated the art of customization too.
