A Wrecked BMW E92 Transformed Into a Fanatec Racing Simulator

About the Fanatec Racing Simulator Build

We built the ultimate racing simulator from a BMW E92 chassis!

Have you ever wondered what it takes to build the ultimate driving simulator? In today's episode of throtl, we build a custom gaming PC and install it into a real car chassis to make the ultimate gaming setup.

The first step to building our custom gaming setup involved getting the BMW E92 chassis cleaned up and mobile. You can obviously use any car for this build but if you’re going to do it, why not do it with style? The boys begin the modifications by fabricating custom mounts and wheels on the chassis. This will allow us to roll the gaming setup to wherever we want it. After getting the wheels installed, Rickie cleans up the E92 chassis and gets it prepped for installs. Rickie then proceeds to install the Fanatec steering wheel, shifter, pedal assembly, and E-brake.

After getting everything mocked up in the car, Rickie and Anthony begin building our custom gaming PC. For our PC build, we went with an NVIDIA RTX 3070 graphics card, Ryzen 7 3700x processor, Corsair water cooler, 16GB of Corsair Ram, and Corsair fans all packed into an NZXT H510 case. It's not the craziest PC build out there, however, it is perfect for what we need!

After getting the PC built, we installed it into the BMW M3 E92 and got everything plugged in. After getting everything set up, we began to play some games! Everyone loved playing on the simulator. They all have the greatest reactions to how fun it is to play.
